When Rishi Kapoor said that Neetu Kapoor deserves a medal to stick by him

On Thursday morning, Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor breathed his last. The actor had been diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and flew to New York for treatment. He was in New York for nearly a year. During this time, his wife and actress Neetu Kapoor stood by him like a pillar of support.

Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor tied the knot in 1980. The two actors met on the sets of the 1974 movie Zehreela Insaan and Rishi fell in love with her. The two went on to act in films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Khel Khel Mein, Kabhi Kabhie, Do Dooni Chaar, Besharam and several others.

In his memoir, titled Khullam Khulla, Rishi Kapoor sings praises of his wife Neetu who he said stood by him through the highs and lows. He also said that Neetu deserves a medal for sticking by him. "Incredibly, she has done it without nagging me to change, and patiently puts up with my whims and moods," he wrote.

In a recent interview with a tabloid Rishi Kapoor had said that Neetu has been his rock and has shouldered all the responsibilities. Meanwhile, in an interview with a television news channel, Neetu said that she began looking at Rishi as if he were his child. She said that Rishi was like his third child as she was looking after all his needs including food and medicines.
