“What a film we made,” says Suniel Shetty as Hera Pheri completes 21 years; Akshay Kumar responds

The Hindi film Hera Pheri starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty is one of the most loved and popular films ever made in Bollywood. The film completes 21 years of release today. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film, which is a perfect blend of comedy, drama and songs, has not lost its charm even after two decades.

On this special occasion, Suniel Shetty took to Twitter to share a collage featuring him and Hera Pheri co-stars. Along with the picture, he wrote, "No wonder we underestimate how quickly time flies. It seems I blinked, and 21 years went by. What a film we made @priyadarshandir @akshaykumar @SirPareshRawal @GulshanGroverGG #Tabu. Missing #OmPuri ji very dearly today...” Have a look:


Responding to the post, Akshay Kumar wrote, "Agreed! Even we didn’t know back then what a film we were making, each scene better than the other. Specially love this one: dhoti Genius of Priyan sir and epic dialogues by late Neeraj Vora.”

Meanwhile, the sequel to Hera Pheri titled Phir Hera Pheri was released in 2006. From the past few years there have been reports about the makers contemplating to make a third part of the film. However, there has not been any official announcement regarding the same.
