Cox initially danced with David Schwimmer, her on-screen brother, in the season 6 episode, The One with the Routine. They get an opportunity to be featured on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve to ring in the year 2000. It remains one of the popular episodes.

The much-awaited Friends: The Reunion special premiered on Thursday, May 27 in the US on HBO Max and ZEE5 in India. The original star cast Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer returned to the iconic comedy’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank for a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show. They talked about shooting the show for 10 years, how much they stay in contact, some unseen memories, and more.

In a recent interview by The Hollywood Reporter, Friends: The Reunion director Ben Winstow revealed why ‘The Routine’ was not a part of the special episode. He said, “I did say, ‘Would you ever consider doing The Routine?’ And both (Cox and Schwimmer) of them were like, ‘Oh, please don’t make us do that.’ There were certain things I really cared for like the table read or the quiz. I also couldn’t work out where it would have worked. I’m not sure it would have landed 20 years later. But it was definitely on my list of ideas that I pitched.”

On the professional front, Courteney Cox is returning to Scream, a horror/ slasher movie directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
