Amrita Rao reveals why she had rejected Aditya Chopra’s offer to become Yash Raj Films’ in-house heroine

Amrita recalled that in November 20211 she has received an invite from Aditya Chopra for a meeting where he offered her to be an in-house heroine of their production house. The actress who had the Rajshri image back then was explained by Chopra that their films are not just for the family. He also asked if she has reservations about kissing onscreen and if she is willing to try “different things”. Amrita said that at the end of the meeting, Chopra also said that he would completely understand whatever decision she chooses to make.

Amrita revealed that her manager pointed out that joining YRF will open more doors for her, but she further discussed it with Anmol and director Sooraj Barjatya. "Uss din jab main shaam ko ghar pe aayi toh bohot confusion tha dimaag mein and then I just felt that jo cheez ke peeche main itna bhaag rahi thi aur soch rahi thi ki mujhe yeh chahiye, khat se jab woh mere saamne aaya, toh mujhe laga shayad mujhe yeh chahiye hi nahi (That evening When I came home, I was confused only to realise that the thing I was chasing after, when I finally got it, maybe I don’t want it anymore)," she added.

Eventually, Amrita rejected the offer saying that she would not be able to do justice to the opportunity presented to her. The actor also spoke to Chopra about her relationship with Anmol, thus becoming the first person in the industry to know about her relationship.

Amrita revealed that she was also offered Neal n Nikki and Bachna Ae Haseeno, both of which were produced by YRF.
