EXCLUSIVE: “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ADMIRES the creative fraternity for its positive contribution” - Mahaveer Jain

What are your views on the current scenario of the Hindi film industry, especially after the recent box office performances?
I am still very optimistic; this is just a phase. The audience has become habitual in watching content at home, so the excitement of going to the theatres needs to be rekindled. Good content and interesting stories will help us address this situation faster. Having said so, we have to dive deeper to understand the root cause of the problem. All the stakeholders should come together to discuss solutions and the way forward.

EXCLUSIVE: “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ADMIRES the creative fraternity for its positive contribution” - Mahaveer Jain

What according to you is the shift the industry needs to bring in?
MJ: We have many experienced thought leaders in our industry, I’m sure they can guide and advise us better. My humble request would be for us to come together and support each other. Rather than competing, let’s collaborate and contribute through this wonderful medium. There is a gap between truth and perception. We need to look with a larger perspective and work towards reducing this gap. Also, we should encourage, entertaining stories connected to our roots, values and culture. Inspiring stories that can usher the youth of our country into a glorious future.

It seems you are inspired by the Prime Minister of our country, Narendra Modi…
Absolutely, yes.

According to you, what does the PM feel about the creative world? Has he seen any of the Hindi films?
His profound knowledge about our rich culture, art and heritage is remarkable. He takes keen interest and often talks about these pillars of harmony & wisdom with a lot of pride. He is very fond of music rooted in Indian soil as well as meaningful lyrics. I have always felt that at heart, he himself is a very creative person who admires the creative fraternity for its positive contribution. I think he must have seen some of our films earlier, I am not sure about the names, but he appreciates the hard work, creativity and talent.

Can you please share your experience & some insights about the PM?
First of all, I consider myself very fortunate to have met our PM. He is a very strong personality yet very sensitive and emotional at heart. Despite being at the most powerful position, he is a Karma Yogi - detached & spiritual within, with a beautiful divine aura around him. He lives every moment with complete awareness. A great listener & learner who is open and inclusive. He connects with people and understands them instantly. He is on a mission to take our country to towering heights.

Can you please elaborate on that?
I mean we have all witnessed the way India is being respected globally, the way we fought back during Covid and helped many other countries as well. Initiatives like ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ gave us a great sense of unity and togetherness. He left his home at a very young age to serve people, and continues to live his life with this deep philosophy – ‘bas wahi jeete hai jo dusron ke liye jeete hai’ (A life well lived, is a life lived for others). I feel that we are truly blessed to have him as our leader.

According to you, what is the entertainment industry’s role in the society?
I feel, ours is a noble profession, as we play an important role in spreading love, joy and hope through our work to bring a balance in the society. Also, the livelihood of so many families depends on our industry. My only request to all my fraternity friends is – Let us all try and entertain people in a healthy way, as our influence is huge.

Finally, please tell us which films are you most excited about, out of your upcoming releases?
I am excited about all our films, especially Uunchai and Ram Setu. Ram Setu is an exceptional story honoring our Indian history. I am looking forward to our second association with Akshay Bhai (Akshay Kumar). Uunchai is a very heart-warming film that is close to our hearts and explores the true meaning of friendship. I respect Rajshri family & Sooraj Ji (Sooraj Barjatya) immensely and consider them as one of the greatest role models of our industry. I am grateful that they gave us an opportunity to be a part of this special film. From the core of my heart, wishing everyone the very best on this auspicious occasion - May Vighnaharta bless us all. Love, Light & Laughter to everyone.
