Deadpool 3: Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman explain the existence of Wolverine in the MCU in hilarious way
After making their surprise announcement on Wednesday that Wolverine will be a part of Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman recently touched upon one of the major questions that might have popped into most of the fans' heads – How is Jackman’s Wolverine alive after Logan in the MCU is not?
The third installment of Marvel's X-rated superhero film will mark both Reynolds aka Deadpool and Jackman aka Wolverine's MCU debut. As Collider notes, the first two Deadpool movies were developed while Fox was still an independent company, and the Mutants were not part of the MCU.
In a new hilarious video shared on social media, the longtime buddies addressed all timeline concerns about their upcoming film before it hits theaters September 6, 2024. "I had a lot of questions. I'm sure you had a lot of questions, but rest assured, we're going to answer them right now," Jackman says in the clip. "Like, for example, how is Wolverine alive after Logan?"
Ryan Reynolds then goes on to explain, "Logan takes place in 2029. Totally separate thing. Logan died in Logan. Not touching that. What actually happens in our film is…" However, before Reynolds and Jackman can share any further plot points, Wham's 1984 feel-good hit "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" interrupts them, playing loudly over their conversation.

Deadpool 3 will directed by Shawn Levy and will reportedly also have more members of X-Men. The film is set to premiere on September 6, 2024.
